    Hi - Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. When you buy travel insurance via WorldNomads.com, you have to choose the country where you have
    1. access to permanent, long term medical care;
    2. unrestricted right of entry; and
    3. where you would want to be repatriated to in case you needed to be sent home for medical treatment

    The most important thing with travel insurance is that you need to be covered as a resident of the country where you would be repatriated to in case of a medical emergency. This is the country where you are most likely a citizen or where you have medical insurance.

    Travel insurance is there mainly to help in medical emergencies (accidents & illnesses) while you're travelling, however if it is decided by the insurer's medical team that you would receive the best treatment at home, then the insurer may arrange your repatriation, and then as soon as you arrive back in your home country, your medical insurance or national health cover kicks in and the travel insurance stops.

    Like Sarah mentioned, please do contact our customer services team direct to talk through your options, as we can then answer this specifically and personally (and we like to keep questions in Ask A Nomad for general travel questions, not specifically for travel insurance) - http://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx over 8 years ago
