Cambodia shoe advice

over 9 years ago about Cambodia

What kind of shoes are best for walking and working in villages in Cambodia? I have a pair of chacos and I was considering getting a pair of the new merrell shoes that are breathable and are suppose to help with posture and balance and be like walking on the ground. Advice??

I wore merrell sandals and was very happy. the securely strapped on kind. I have a new semi-closed toe version which is even better - protects more against toe stubs and especially dirt. Sandals help you stay a bit cooler - essential. You'll be fine in these shoes for walking. Working - depends on what kind of work. over 9 years ago

I am not sure when you plan on visiting but it is rainy season so I would bring a pair of sandals that will dry quickly. over 9 years ago

Whatever you get, do not go for leather stuff. Rain. over 9 years ago

I walked whith sandals over the floading areas and barefoot to cross water. Use something you can discar easily.

On steady ground I used trekking shoes. They keep off the Heath and can handle dirty muds if needed over 9 years ago
