Cambodia is a great place to visit, stay and or invest in, however, a lapse in my own security (common-sense) left me vulnerable.
I had a misfortunate incident where I had a hallucination during a meeting with a friend. Fortunately, I had the sense of mind to call a family member to come and pick me up immediately.
It has been a week since the incident, and I'm slowly recovering from a very high fever, high heart rate, and total body muscle fatigue. I am not trying to cause hysteria or damage to any establishments.
The incident is the first of its kind in my life, and I'm in my early fifties! I pride myself on my fitness, health, and personal persona. Before departing to meet up with friends I had a late lunch early dinner so as to drink Ion a full stomach; over a period of 4-5hrs, I drank seven small size pints of beer with ice to keep it cold and to dilute the beverage.
I believe the spikers intent was to relieve me of my possessions later in the evening, I don't frequent drinking bars, I am not a regular, I am a foreigner, and I am hesitant on reporting the incident to the authorities.
Hi Bill, Glad to hear you're okay now.... but please go see a doctor to make sure.
Can I suggest you do report it to the authorities, even if you don't make a formal complaint, and even if they don't act on this one, good policing comes from a build-up of intelligence. They'll probably be grateful for the info.
And don't worry - it can happen to anyone!

Hello Bill and Phil
I had a similar bad experience at a Phnom Penh riverside bar, needless to say, I also take responsibility for my actions. However, Bar owners also need to ensure patrons are protected. I dread to think of the worst case scenario, especially if people are hurt in the process! I wonder if there are more victims of spiking out there?
