I´m going to Ceara, Brazil. Anyone have been in Jeri or Canoa Quebrada???? Any good tips, specially about a low cost hostel??
Which city is better, do you recommend other beach ?? is fortaleza a safe city?
Hello! My bf and I stayed two weeks ago in Jeri in a campsite for 15reais per person. It's called camping Natureza and it's the cheapest accomodation in town. They provide the tent and the matress as well. You can also cook there.
And we are going to Canoa tomorrow. We found cheap apartments with kitchen in http://www.portalcanoaquebrada.com.br/canoa_quebrada_pousadas.htm

Fortaleza is the one place I haven't felt completely safe so far. It's dodgy at night so we basically stayed in the hostel ( backpackers ceara, avda dom manuel 89). In the centro Dragao do Mar, which is really close to the hostel, they have nice concerts, theatre plays and activities for free. over 7 years agoAnswered by Marta via WorldNomads.com
Hi, i was in Fortaleza a few months ago and the City is not too safe.
Although the beaches like cumbuco, lagoinha, morro branco etc are pretty safe, but a but far from downtown. We stayed át. A hotel located at Praia do Futuro, which is one of the most dangerous places as it is too close to the slams. But the trip was wonderful and the City is very cheap. Maybe one of the cheapest cities in Brazil. You can go to really good restaurants for very cheap.
My tip to you: enjoy the beaches and the good places the City can offer, just dont walk around with jewlery, rings, neckless etc. almost 7 years ago
