It depends if is rush hour or not, and if week day or weekend. But you should consider at least 1,5 hour as average. almost 7 years ago

If you are arriving in Guarulhos, Terminal 1 or 2 leaving from Guarulhos terminal 1 or 2. you will need only the time to go through imigration. This would take about 1 hour (imigration and luggage).
But, if you are going to Congonhas airport for you domestic flight, you will need about 1,5 hrs from one airport to another. Traffic is bad early morning and after 4PM. Try to avoid it, or you will spend more time in the traffic. Hope it will help you. almost 7 years ago

It depends. First of all, make sure you must really go from one terminal to another in the SAME airport (Guarulhos International). If that's the case, the two terminals are within walking distance (maybe 10 minutes apart) and the time factor will depend more on immigration and customs.

However, if you have transfer from International Airport (Guarulhos) to domestic Airport (Congonhas), then it will take you at least a 1 hour drive (taxi, with good traffic), besides immigratiion and customs.

If you need more assitance, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your Informed answers! It sounds as if I should be ok. I will be flying from Brasilia to Sao Paulo Guarulhos International, and then switching planes there. So I don't think I need to go through immigration and customs, right (?) as i'll still be in Brazil. Then in Sao Paulo Guarulhos International I change terminals to get my plane to the US. I have a 1-1/2 hr connection time (assuming the plane from Brasilia is on time). almost 7 years ago

    • You will ned to go through immigration in Guarulhos, but it takes only a fraction if compared to the incoming immigration. Normally it is fast, but if there are many flight departing in the same time, you might get some delays. Tupã Alves Stefani almost 6 years ago

From Brasilia to Sao Paulo you won't go through immigration. 1h and 1/2 between two flights can be challenging in this airport, so I recommend you don't waste time shopping or doing something else... almost 7 years ago

If you are talking about the same airport, but different terminals, then don't worry. They are really close. If you're talking about different airports, then it can be a bit far. There are shuttles, though. almost 7 years ago

If the two terminals are into the same AirPort (Guarulhos International AirPort - GRU) it's very close, you can go walking for less than ten minutes. almost 7 years ago

As it turns out...I missed my connection. While the terminals are close, and easy walking distance as others noted, they had a rule that you have to re-check-in at the counter a full hour before the departing flight. By the time I reached the counter it was 36 minutes and they refused to let me board. So they booked me on a different flight that go me to Detroit rather than NY which was where I was trying to go. almost 6 years ago
