What's the Rio Carnaval like?
Can anyone share their experiences (good or bad) or tips? Thanks!

Everyone I know who's been (sadly I haven't) says it's great... If you follow a few simple safety tips. World nomads.com has a guide to carnival written with the help of someone who 's been, it's very informative http://journals.worldnomads.com/safetyhub/story/69443/Brazil/Tips-for-Surviving-Carnival-in-Brazil

Hi, I'm a brazilian, I Liverpool in another city but have been to rio to visit relatives many times every year since I was born. I have been there in carnivals. It certainly is a beautiful show to watch, so be sure to but your tickets in advance. Ir you want to party on the street though, I would highly recommend street carnival in Salvador, not Rio. Anywhere in Brazil, you should be very careful. Try not to walk alone at night or let stranger approach you with no obvious reason. Nonetheless, It is a wonderful trip! Stay in Ipanema ir you can. That way you can get a True rio experience. over 9 years ago

It's one of the greatest shows on earth! It's a 2 nights show. Buy your ticket in advance, throught a travel agency. You won't forget never. I went 3 times, every 2 or 3 years. over 9 years ago
