For Carneval in Rio, what is the best place (safe, close to the events and classy) to stay and which places (clubs, rest.) to visit pls?
I want to go to Rio for the Carneval and would like to know the best & trendiest place to stay (not necessarily the most expensive) which is close to the parade and yet in a safe area. Also any advice on which restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. I should go to, which are not filled with drunk people so I can enjoy a good entertainment. Thanks a lot in advance.

Stay in Ipanema , Leblon or Copacabana (cheaper). For bar and restaurants, Ipanema has the best ones. Go to Devassa and informal. about 9 years ago

I'd suggest you to stay in Copacabana, where you have many options for accommodation, but if you want some more comfort, go to Leblon, but it is more pricy.
Regarding restaurants, you will find the best ones spread around the city and this is a good excuse to move around
Good luck with your trip, and if you need any help regarding accomodation or excursions, dont hesitate to contact us
