    If you are interested in birds, rent a car (driving is easy in Belize) and go up to the Crooked Tree nature reserve. Hire a boat and guide and take a trip thru the lake and mangroves. You will see most of the world's supply of Jabaru Storks, among others. Altun Ha is a good visit if you haven't seen Maya ruins. Skip the city. over 6 years ago

    Thanks, hired a driver to take us to Crooked Tree. No regrets but storks don't arrive until Dec and the lake was flooding, no boat tours. Pretty rough. The city is no place for tourist to be walking a round. Glad we had a guide to stay with us. over 6 years ago
