For Germany, you can take the kids to old german steel factory Voelkinger heute (or sth similar). One hour from Luxembourg, you can plan some 3 hours there.

For Luxembourg, check this blog. She has kids and gets them around http://www.abitoflux.com/ almost 6 years ago

Hello I am the writer of the blog mentioned in the previous post http://www.abitoflux.com (thanks!). A few things to do in Luxembourg would be to visit Parc Merveilleux, visit a castle (Vianden), take a ride on a steam train from Petange to the Fond de Gras steel/industry museum (kind of small but if you go on one of their 'family fun' days it's a great half day out ( http://www.train1900.lu ). Les Thermes is a nice indoor swim complex with slides and wave pool ( http://www.lesthermes.net/en/arrival.html ). Not visited yet but in Germany there's a place called 'Happy Land' which is a big indoor soft play place with trampolines etc http://www.happyland-bitburg.de , and also Eifelpark nature and theme park which i've heard is worth a visit (http://www.eifelpark.de/index_en.php). In Belgium you could visit the European Space Centre. I have a friend with kids from 6 to 12 (boys and a girl) and they really enjoyed it (http://www.eurospacecenter.be/englishv.html). Brussels is FANTASTIC and well worth a longer weekend trip. Check out a chocolate demonstration, the Museum of Natural sciences (http://www.naturalsciences.be) or Autoworld (http://www.autoworld.be). That should keep you going for a bit! almost 6 years ago
