Is it worth going to Sth Australia in general... or for the beer?
There's plenty of ideas on what to do in Adelaide over here : http://answers.worldnomads.com/search?q=adelaide
As for the beer - the answer to that is also YES. Adelaide is home to Coopers and you can often get special brews on tap in the local pubs - try The Exeter on Rundle Street. - an institution amongst Uni Students, music fans and beer lovers.
Also, the winery regions are expanding their appeal beyond grape-lovers and offering micro-brews too. Check out McLaren Vale Beer for example : http://mvbeer.com/
As for the size of the glass, it's true that an Adelaide schooner is small compared to a NSW schooner, but you can also order a 'pint' for something bigger. Not quite the same as a true UK pint, but certainly, a decent sized glass of beer. :-) about 8 years ago
South Australia has some awesome places to visit although it's better known for its wine than its beer probably :-) But there's something for everyone to see - great beaches, the Flinder's Ranges, Kangaroo Island, deserts, wineries, historic Adelaide and more...
