Sean's Panaroma at Bondi is a gem. Very cosy dining room, great service and fantastic food. It's very Sydney! Make sure you book early. http://www.seanspanaroma.com.au/
Etch offers beautiful all day dining in a quirky setting. http://www.etchdining.com/
You can't go past Cafe Sydney for good food and stunning views of Sydney.

If you have the budget, head for Est on the first floor of the Establishment. Top Class and very sophisticated. Or, if they like Asian and Spicy (the real deal) head to Spice I am on Wentworth Avenue in Surrey Hills. over 11 years ago

Handmade Noodle Heaven in the Haymarket, Chinatown.
One of the best cheap eats in Sydney, real authentic handmade noodles and dumplings in this tiny bustling little place, we love it, I took my folks here when they popped over form the UK. They loved it too!

I loved Edna's Table for native Australian ingredients, The Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral is lovely for brunch, Iceberg's on Bondi for a morning coffee an breakfast whilst watching the waves crashing over the pool and mornign swimmers. On the north side on Blue Point Road has a nice Spanish Restaurant and I loved the Surry Hills area for restautants (Marque, an excelelnt japanese place whose name escapes me). Check out Food & Wine's website for good suggestions:
