Is 1 1/2 days enough to visit? I will be flying to Ayers Rock airport, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayers_Rock_Airport. So is 1 full day is enough to do basic visit?

    Yep that is plenty, you can do the walk around the rock, try early morning or late evening if you can, it gets so hot. You can then go to the look out point to watch the sunset, the colours are amazing over the rock. There is a really interesting interpretive centre nearby too. I camped near there too which was cool, the night sky is amazing around there so many stars. We slept outdoors by camp fire, was fabulous, if a little scary at times with all the geckos and noises. about 11 years ago

    No, I don't think it is. If you go all that way and don't visit Kata Tjuta you'd be mad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kata_Tjuta

    This place is very special and well worth more than a 'basic' visit. Spend the time and the rewards are returned, which is probably true of most destinations. about 11 years ago

    It will be worth going, but won't be able to see everything you would like to visit. But choosing between going 1 day and not going? Definitely go 1 day! To me the red center was breathtaking. I'll never forget it. over 9 years ago
