    Hi James,
    Food:
Melbourne: longrain.com.au; check out the Acland St in St Kilda; For Breakfast I love Andiamo's on De Grave St.
Sydney: I dont know many places but can recommend www.kingsleys.com.au/sydney.htm
Gold Coast: Mario's in Broadbeach, Lots of nice Restaurants on Tedder Avenue, Little Beans at Nobby's Beach

Attractions: Melbourne: Muesum, Melbourne Aquarium, spend an afternoon in St Kilda, Discover all the Lane ways in the City

Sydney: the southern end of the royal botanic gardens is the perfect palces for views of the harbour and Opera House

Gold Coast: Wet'n'Wild Water World is one of the best water parks in the world! the beaches are amazing - instead of Surfers Paradise, drive 20 mins or hop a bus to Burliegh Heads.

Free Wifi - Many Cafe's offer free wifi - in Queensland there are many Zarafas Coffee Shops that will have you connected. Also every McDonalds has free wifi for guests. over 6 years ago

SWyber pretty much answers your questions, accommodation varies greatly depending on where you want to stay, city wise it will be more expensive so maybe look at a backpackers or wotif.com a bit later in the year.
Weather wise...it is summer so expect it to be hot, the heat in Melbourne and Sydney is different from the heat on the Gold Coast so expect dry heat in Melbourne and Sydney and sticky hot heat on the Gold Coast. Be prepared for the unpredictable weather in Melbourne but overall it will be warm. over 6 years ago

I was on the gold coast 10 years ago, and I loved going to 'draculas' a dinner and show. I think it was by Byron bay over 6 years ago

Do go and see the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island near Melbourne. Hundreds of the smallest species appear from the see, one of the most heart warming experiences ever. But dress warm, can be very nippy at dusk on the seashore. over 6 years ago

Im from sydney and accomodation wont be cheap, same as melbourne as the aust open finals should be that time.

If you are looking at backpackers, wake up is pretty good on george street near central station

Weatherwise, end of jan is hot... Im pretty sure for this yr there was a few days over 37 in sydney near end of jan.

For taxi, its alot more expensive than singapore. Its so hard to find a cab in singapore cause its so cheap, unlike here where its vacant everywhere cause its so expensive over 6 years ago
