I'm looking for a 2 bedroom room to accommodate 4 people, would love to be near shopping, cafes and restaurants. Somewhere trendy would be great!

Just last week stayed in a serviced apartment - Quest on Flinders Lane. Just near the funky laneways, Federation Square and Flinders St station and a whole bunch of tram stops. It was a great central place to check out the city from. It was one of the few places we could find to accommodate 4 people for a short stay (most serviced apartments you have to stay for a few days' minimum). It was very comfortable and modern, 2br, 2 bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, everything.

We booked through wotif.com and got cheap rates too. Check them out at http://www.questonflinderslane.com.au/ over 11 years ago

We are have stayed in many apartments and the best would be the mecure on spring street. Always check out www.wotif.com for cheap hotels they will always have something but it is a risk as well because if there is a massive event on alot of hotels / apartments book out eg: Australian Open over 11 years ago

Definitely check out Punt Hill (http://www.punthill.com.au/) - I've stayed with them a couple of times and had positive experiences. Affordable, well-serviced and comfortable. Also, they're well situated, with a number of good locations around Melbourne:

    - Flinders Lane, City Centre
    - Little Bourke, City Centre
    - Manhattan, City Centre

    Inner Suburbs:
    - The Stanton, St Kilda Road
    - South Yarra, Davis Avenue & Punt Road

    - Essendon Grand
    - Burwood
    - Williamstown
