hey lyn I've just done that trip taking my time in a campervan. obviously depends on your budget and the amount of time you have - but highlights for me were Karijini National Park (inland and some rough roads), Ningaloo (nr Exmouth), Coral Bay, Monkey Mia, Coronation Beach and Sandy Cape. Unless you're really into mining, gas and port/rail infrastructure you can definitely give Port Hedland a miss. Karratha is the best stop on that part of the coast if you need a stop IMHO. The WikiCamps app for iOS and android is a great $2 app for finding campsites, caravan parks and hostels. give us a shout if you're looking for something more specifically. post wet season the roads might be a bit ordinary - plan ahead for this. almost 5 years ago
