That's a really good question! Normally the weather in Melbourne is reasonably warm (18-25 degrees Celsius) at that time of year, but there's a good chance of it being windy and wet too. It can also get a bit cool at night, perhaps 12-15 degrees generally. The rest of inland Victoria will probably be a bit warmer during the day, and cooler at night. By the coast is probably similar to Melbourne weather.
So I would recommend bringing mostly jeans and tshirts, perhaps a pair of shorts in case of a scorching day (which is possible), a reasonably lightweight rain jacket and a warm jumper/fleece of some sort.
Obviously if you want to go to the beach you'll need stuff for that too - it's entirely possible that it'll be warm enough to do so (though the water will be chilly!). Don't forget the sunscreen and hat as we don't really have an ozone layer to protect us here! :)
