Cairns - see Cape Tribulation, Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge. These are all about 2 to 4 hours drive north of Cairns but should not be missed! You should allow 3 days to see Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation area over 5 years ago

Try Newcastle, approx 100 miles north of Sydney. Wonderful beaches, gorgeous Foreshore. Try Darby St and Hamilton for excellent, affordable restaurants.... And then.... You're not far from the beautiful vineyards of the Hunter Valley and the dolphins at Port Stephens. Newcastle is an affordable, accessible microcosm of everything you could want or need. over 5 years ago

Airlie Beach in the Whysundays is not to miss but be careful as it is such a good holiday destination you may not make it to Cairns about 5 years ago
