3 week itenary for Australia
I will be going to Australia in January and am wondering what you think of my schedule and if you have any other suggestions or if you think this is realistic .
1) 2-3 days in Sydney and one day in Bondi Beach
2) 2 Days in Melbourne
3) 3 - 4 days driving the Great Ocean Road
4) 1 day on Kangaroo Island
5) 1 day in Adelaine than fly to Brisbane.
6) 3-4 days traveling the Gold Coast, including Byron Bay.
7) Fly back to Sydney than go home.

It's not long enough, but a year isn't long enough in Australia either :)
Sydney should be fine for 2-3 days (visit The Rocks, Circular Quay, Surry Hills and the Cross), but I would recommend a different beach. Do the Bondi to Coogee walk instead and spend the afternoon in Coogee, a nicer and quieter beach.
I would spend a day in Byron and maybe one day in Surfers Paradise.

Thanks folks, also, do you think January would be too crowded of a month to go. I was thinking maybe February or March instead if so. Thanks! over 8 years ago

If you have a choice, Feb/March would be much better. Aussie schools are back by then.
What are your particular interests so I can make a few suggestions for Melbourne. over 8 years agoAnswered by Carole Pearson viaAsk a Nomad iPad app
- Hi Carole. I am heavy into Photography, so anything scenic in Melbourne would be great. I guess this is the reason I am really looking forward to the Great Ocean Road more than any other part of the trip. Thank you again for the feedback. AlohaBill over 8 years ago

I'm not sure youve left enough time for the Adel/kangaroo island part. The island is quite big and has many dirt roads. Don't drive after dusk or at dawn - wildlife everywhere. And make sure your rental car is ok to go on the ferry/dirt roads. If you're tagging this onto the end of the Great ocean road part, that should be ok. But allow enough time to get back to Adelaide - 1 hr ferry crossing + 2 hours drive. I'd go for 2 days on the island and 1 in Adelaide. Check out some of the other q&a advice for KI here. And there's already plenty of tips for how to spend a few days in Adelaide. over 8 years ago
