Camping on the island was awesome, and some great bush walks. Apparently there is superb whale watching from Harvey Bay, including a mysterious white whale that comes and goes, although I have never been on one of these trips. almost 11 years ago

I really liked Hervey Bay when we went a couple of years ago. We spent a lot longer there than we had intended.

The day we got there, the rodeo came to town and that was fantastic. We did a great whale watching trip aboard a catamaran which enabled us to get really close to the whales.

My husband learnt to scuba dive when we were there. Roy Rufus is an artificial reef which is nice and then there is the three ships which is made up of the hulls of three sunken ships.

We did some nice drives out to Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach, and also up the coast to 1770 and Agnes Water. I liked Bundaberg - well, I really liked the ginger beer that comes from there! almost 11 years ago
