Perama Greek restaurant in Petersham is fantastic. The food is wonderful and they accommodate larger groups (though I don't know the maximum number). The banquet is an easy way to keep things simple with ordering, and includes BYO wine corkage.

Golden Century on Sussex St in Chinatown. They have a variety of table sizes, I saw a party of 10 and they weren't even at the biggest table! The prices aren't too bad if you have 12+ you can get banquets starting at 38$. The serving size of the regular dishes is massive.
They specialize in seafood, and have a huge range of live creatures in tanks as you walk in - one of the dishes we had was Sauteed Prawns and Vegetables. The prawns were cooked to perfection! I haven't enjoyed prawns in ages and would go back simply to order all of their prawn creations!
The waiters are a little harried because they are really busy, but the service is still timely and you get watermelon and cookies after your meal, as well as complimentary tea. They also have a massive wine list. over 9 years ago
There are a lot of restaurants located in King street in Newtown that you might find interesting and that I reckon might be able to serve a large amount of people specially if you call them before and make a reservation, so I suggest you swing by the zone and check it out. You can reach there by train just hopping off at St. Peters station and just walk up the street :) over 9 years agoAnswered by Mafer Kendel via Travellr.com
I quite like the cushion room upstairs at the Nepalese Kitchen on Crown St, cheap and cheerful and delicious.
The Commons in Darlinghurst also does a good set menu for a group; http://thecommons.com.au/
The Falconer on Oxford ST has a great atmosphere too and will accommodate groups; http://www.thefalconer.com.au/ about 8 years ago
