'Samson and Delilah' is the best Australian film of recent times, but it is tough viewing. 'Kenny' and 'The Castle' will give you a good insight into the unique Australian sense of humour. If you are looking to watch some films as preparation for a holiday, try some of these Aussie road movies: 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert', 'Bran Nue Dae', 'Kiss or Kill', 'Bondi Tsunami', 'Last Ride', 'Cactus' and 'Japanese Story'. Finally, if you are planning to travel to Australia, definitely avoid 'Wolf Creek' and 'Wake In Fright' :) about 8 years ago

As far as amazing Australian films goes, I don't think you can go past Hercules Returns (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107103/).

It is mildly ridiculous but stupidly funny. about 8 years ago
