I am overwhelmed with the amount of things there are to prepare for for the year, any suggestions on transportation to use or jobs to seek. Looking for a fruit picking. Fly in August of this year

As soon as you have your visa set up and you arrive in Australia, apply for your tax file number because no one, even fruit picking farms, will hire you without one. You will also need a bank account. I used Commonwealth and was happy with them. Start looking for jobs on Gumtree.com.au and Seek.com.au. If you want fruit picking specifically, look at the government page on farm work, http://jobsearch.gov.au/harvesttrail/default.aspx. I also recommend wwoof.org to find farms to work on in exchange for accommodation and meals. almost 9 years ago

Tax files can be received through Australian Taxation Office http://www.ato.gov.au/ You should be able to organise it before you come over through the website, as it could take a month. Another website to look at is the Department of Immigration and Citizenship http://www.immi.gov.au/ It is important that your visa allows work while in Australia.

As for transport it depends on the location of work, with Australia being so big bus and rail networks vary in quality dependant on the area. almost 9 years ago
