Family of four travelling to Sydney on a cruise need 1 nights accomodation close to Circular Quay, Rocks etc early December 2010.
Looking for a clean, quiet place to rest - will be sightseeing during the day so we only really need a decent bed for the night.
Would prefer not to have to use taxi etc to get from Cruise to hotel so the closer the better. Might consider the YHA in the Rocks - any comments on this option?
Any suggestions on family friendly good for the budget accomodation?

I stayed at the YHA on the rocks for about two weeks recently - it was awesome. The place is really clean and friendly, and I think it would be great for families (there were a decent number there while I was staying and they seemed quite happy).

We actually did a write up on the place:

The place blurs the line a bit between hotel and hostel, what you get for the price is simply awesome, especially if you get a room to yourself (all rooms have en suites, are airconditioned, decent beds, so on..). There are double / twin rooms as well as 4-5 person family rooms.

The hostel is about 8 mins walk from the cool bits of the rocks.

Hope this helps, and happy travelling. almost 11 years ago

Thanks Geoff - I was always under the impression that accomodation that close to Sydney's CBD was over priced but thatnks to this site am begining to find soome that are very reasonable.

I have stayed at the Goldsborough too actually :). It is pretty awesome but felt a little out of the way (although it has great close access to Darling Harbour).

For the price it was damn good! almost 11 years ago
