I am currently working in Buenos Aires. I was thinking, to start my trip home I would go via Mendoza into Chile. Is it worth staying there for very long. I will be going through in late June and I will have 1 month before I fly from Santiago. I was talking to some travellers who had been there and they said it was much better in the summertime, but still not great.

Mendoza is beautiful, I was there in summer, but it must be amazing in winter also. If you are single get on the next bus, if not proceed with caution my friend, but there are good times to be had for sure! Sounds like you have enough time to explore, get up there and check it out and whatever time is left you will enjoy in Chile.

About the money? I'm not sure, Argentina was dirt cheap everywhere when I was there, I lived like a king! over 11 years ago

We went there in the winter and it was a bit average...

If you want to see the wineries then pay the ~200 pesos for a guided tour with lunch and transport.
We tried to find our own way around and the wineries we tried were closed. It was a long walk and the bike hiring places were closed at the end of the town where the bus dropped us off. over 11 years ago

Well I am here now and it is a lot of fun!

I haven't really found the bevy of beautiful babes (not locals anyway)

I went on a winery tour and can understand why it would have been a bit crappy if you had tried to walk lol! Everything was a bit wintery and losing leaves and the wineries were down fairly long roads

The big buffet place in town is awesome! So much meat... I love Argentina! over 11 years ago
