I've been travelling for many years and have recently lost my travel partner. (Just a breakup) I'm responsible and a great planner. I'm retired and in great health. I'm not to picky just want a clean safe place to sleep. I could travel alone, I just don't think travelling alone is as much fun. Would like to find a compatible male/female travel partner, just can't seem to find out how. I live in Newport, RI. My favorite city is Paris. Any ideas out there?

Do you speak French at all? I would check Meetup for a local french conversation meet up where they have very casual meetups to practice french for all levels.

There may also be other meetups around travel that might be a good place to meet other people interested in finding a travel partner.

I have also just gone to a city and stayed in a Hostel and have always met people that were open and interested in joining up for a few days to explore the city and have many times received invitations to go to other cities and places with them. Whenever I have traveled alone, I found that I was never alone. When you travel alone you put yourself in a position where you are much more likely to meet new people and they are more likely to invite you along to different activities because you are so open. When you have a partner, people just assume that you don't want to go along with them because you and your partner already have a plan and an agenda.
