My husband and I are flying together from South Africa to the States, via Dubai. I own a US passport, and my husband owns both a British and a South African passport. He will be departing from SA and arriving in the US using his SA passport. However, we want to tour Dubai during our 7 hr layover and it is easier for him to use his British passport as he will not need a pre-arranged visa on his Brit passport. Can he use this second passport on layovers?
(I am concerned that the UAE officials will not allow him in since he will not have a stamp from leaving SA)

I use my Costa Rica passport to enter and leave Costa Rica and then use my US passport to enter and leave the US. They can ask you if you live there, but not have I ever been asked for a stamp. If they do you, you can always show your dual citizenship and your stamp on the other passport.

It shouldn't be an issue. almost 4 years ago

I'd be careful when doing this and definitely investigate before you do that. I had issues switching passports when i arrived into some countries almost 4 years ago
