Hi, I'm from Mexico, travelling to the US, I need some travel insurance but I'm worried if I buy WN, they wont honor my claims given that they're secondary insurance, and I don't have a primary insurance provider. I'm leaving soon and CS doesn't answer me so I hope someone can help me based on their experiences!

    The travel insurance provides cover for unexpected and unforeseen expenses you incur while travelling abroad for particular situations as explained in the policy wording (for example: for emergency medical expenses if you suffer an acute serious illness or serious injury while travelling).

    Travel insurance is considered as secondary insurance as it is not intended as primary health insurance in Mexico (your country of residence) and will not provide cover if you require ongoing medical treatment once you return home. For example: if you are unfit to continue your trip due to an acute serious illness/injury suffered while you're travelling, there is cover for your repatriation home if you're unfit to continue your trip and need to return home for medical treatment. Cover ends as soon as you return to your country of residence.

    It is also considered secondary insurance if you can make a claim from another provider. For example, if your airline cancels a flight and offers you a refund, then you should take the refund before making a claim on the insurance.

    If you do not have another insurance policy or provider to claim from, and if the reason you require the insurance policy to help you is covered under the terms of the policy, then you may make a claim on the insurance.
