I am traveling to Africa for 6months in August, would love any helpful tips and suggestions as am traveling as a solo female.
I would like to do some volunteer work while I'm away with children and animals especially cheetahs, so if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Also as I'm a 24yr old female solo traveller any places that people recommend and places to avoid would be a great help. Looking at starting in morocco, working across the north then down the east coast to finish in cape town.
Thank you :)
There is a really lovely cheetah farm in northern Namibia called "Otjitotongwe Cheetah Farm". I dont know if you can volunteer there, but may be worth contacting and asking. Nearby is also a Himba orphanage, but again, I dont know if you can volunteer.
As a sole female, you may want to find a group to start out with and gain some confidence travelling through those countries, especially if starting in Morocco. Remember to be sensitive to the culture and not to draw too much attention to yourself. over 7 years ago
