Should i rent a car in san francisco?

Rent a car IN the city at a rental company location, rather than paying all the fees at the airport rental sites. You can take public transportation, including the subway, from either San Francisco or Oakland airport into San Francisco and then rent a car when you need. It. Very expensive to park a car on the street or overnight in a garage thus use for day trips. over 6 years ago

    Swimming holes around san francisco

Lake Tahoe is three hours away - but it is truly frigid until August. Same goes for the Truckee River, but by July it is usually okay. Clear Lake in Sonoma is an option as is Folsom Lake outside of Sacramento. over 7 years ago

Cheaper/interesting accommodation in San Francisco in July/August?

It's cold in San Francisco in the summer - why don't you wait until September or October - it's nicer, less tourists. When you say less expensive it depends on what you are looking for - we had friends who recently stayed at the Best Western Americania on 7th Street at Mission - quiet, nice, maybe not the bets location, but conveniently located near Market to get public transportation. Lombard Street has lots of hotels as well at reasonable prices. about 8 years ago
