What is the word (mony) in Philippines

The formal word for money is "salapi" and the common (street language) word is "pera." The colonial leftover word for money is "kwarta." Everyday use would be "pera." over 6 years ago

While you hang around at the mall, where do you park your bicycle?

If you happen to be visiting Mal Kelapa Gading in Jakarta Utara (North Jakarta), the safest place is the Koramil (mixed police-military) outpost across the road at the north end of the mall. It's an area where mopeds commonly park and I've gotten the affable watchers used to looking after my bicycle there. You can even park there in the evening up to say 11 p.m. about 7 years ago

While you hang around at the mall, where do you park your bicycle?

As general advice for parking bicycles in Jakarta, seek out the motorcycle parking area that looks most secure. Look for one that's walled off and monitored by guards. Ask where the bicycles ("sepeda kaki" in Bahasa Indonesia) are segregated and then chain your bike to something fixed. Have a least two decently reliable bike locks. Strip off accessories like handle bar lights and the travel computer. Don't leave your helmet either. Better safe than sorry. about 7 years ago

Do you know any travel writing job here in the Philippines or around Asia?

Where was it I read this, "Your dream job does not exist (yet). You have to create it." The same goes for travel writing or feature writing. You have to have a portfolio you can show and you also have to pound the pavement. In digital terms, the former would mean you've got a decent blog and the latter would mean you've done enough online sleuthing to identify who's who and reach them. On a closing note, you could also create a net presence for yourself and bypass the traditional media. Seek out allied websites, put in your two cents worth with leadbacks to your own blog. You'll get your paying gigs soon enough. Meanwhile, start writing! Good luck! almost 7 years ago
