Where are the best dive spots?

Dive courses are possible on any of the three main Gulf of Thailand islands (Ko Tao, Ko Phan'gan and Ko Samui) but as the above have stated, Ko Tao is the one to go for if you can. More remote, more beautiful, and usually slightly cheaper. almost 9 years ago

Where is the best place to spend New Years Eve in Thailand?

Hey Nelson, I would say that this wholly depends on what you are looking for... The obvious choices for backpacker party central are the islands in the Gulf of Thailand (Ko Phangan and Ko Samui) and there are heaps of other nice places around that area. Another less known island is Ko Lanta, which sits below Phuket - this island is generally a lot quieter, though I would imagine that around New Years it could be just as fun but much less crowded than the main islands. If you are after something more upmarket but decidedly more touristy (and likely more expensive), the Pa Tong region of Phuket is also worth a look. almost 9 years ago

Where can I can the biggest surf waves in Tasmania?

Hi Bobby, Not much of a surfer myself, but I have quite a few friends back in Tasmania who are well and truly into it. Some of the best spots in Tasmania can be found along the West coast, which can be a pain if you are a tourist as these areas can be quite hard to reach without renting a car. Still, if you can get some like-minded people together, it can also be a recipe for an awesome road trip! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Marrawah,+Tasmania,+Australia&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=56.06887,79.013672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Marrawah+Tasmania,+Australia&z=11 The above is Marrawah, on the northern end of the West coast. Some of the best waves in the state can be found here, so I am told. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Clifton+Beach,+Tasmania,+Australia&sll=-40.920013,144.70802&sspn=0.423377,0.617294&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Clifton+Beach+Tasmania,+Australia&z=14 Closer to civilization is Clifton Beach, about 30 minutes from Hobart. You may even be able to get a Metro bus out this far, check www.metrotas.com.au for more details. EDIT: Thanks for pointing out Shipsterns Niko, completely forgot! almost 9 years ago

Where can I taste Casu Marzu in Sardinia?

Ahh... That stuff! I tried that when I was in Cagliari earlier this year... *very* strong flavoured, but really tasty. Good with wine! I was Couchsurfing when I was in Sardinia, and my host had some in her refrigerator and we had a lovely evening of wine and cheese - I am reasonably sure you can buy it from shops over there, else you could likely find cafes and bars that will serve it. almost 9 years ago

What food from Zurich is unmissable?

CHEESE FONDUE. Seriously... You will likely feel sick afterwards, but it is soo worth if if cheese is your thing. Gruyère or Emmental cheeses are the best to sample as far as Fondue goes. They also do amazing chocolate fondue, with fresh fruits dipped in the melted Swiss chocolate. So good! Switzerland is generally a good place for both cheese and chocolate, but most people do not realise how good the quality of the wine is either - I strongly recommend some tastings if you can get yourself to some vineyards, depending on the time of your visit. almost 9 years ago

    Trains from Frankfurt to Copenhagen?

Hi Tyrone, Try Deutschbahn - As you are leaving from a city within the centre of Germany, it is probably the cheapest and easiest way. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/dn?ld=96164&seqnr=1&ident=0y.013793164.1287039739&rt=1&rememberSortType=minDeparture&OK#focus The above is a search with an arbitrary date... Depending on when you want to go, you can get IC / ICE trains (the fast ones!) for about 90€ one way if you book far enough in advance.# Hope this helps! almost 9 years ago

Is it possible to get from Egypt to Malta?

Hey Jamie, Yes, it is possible. As an example, a quick google trawl pulled up http://www.farecompare.com/results/flights-city-countrysearch.html?departure=CAI&destination=MLA&departdate=20101014&returndate=&p=1&type=flights-city-country&cabin=Coach&altAirports=false&flexDates=false&onlyNonStops=false&t=o&s=d (Be aware that the site defaults to US Dollars..!) Hunt around for the best offers - I have not checked this, but I would suspect that it is probably cheaper to go somewhere in Spain like Valencia, Seville or Madrid first, spend a few nights there (Amazing cities if you have never been to them!) and then use a Low Cost Carrier like Ryanair to get to Malta. Ryanair fly from all three of those cities, and also from Barcelona. Hope this helps! almost 9 years ago
