Do you have to take a tour of Kakadu National Park, Australia or can you rent a car and do it independently?
There are a few places you can go in Kakadu without a 4WD, but as Simon says (lol), a 4WD is the best option. When renting one, be sure to go over it with a fine-tooth comb for any damage (companies usually ask you to do this prior to taking the vehicle) and take note of it either on the supplied form or in a notebook, and get somebody from the company to sight and sign it before you leave. Also make sure to check oil, water and the spare tyre. It may seem like stuff that the company should take care of, but not all are as responsible as you might think; the last thing you want to do is break down in the middle of nowhere!) Places like Britz, Hertz and Avis all have 4WDs for hire; shop around for the best deal. over 10 years ago
It all depends on what you are looking for - Seville is beautiful, there is a lot to see and do there - but to me, its just another big city. If you want sun and sand, and relief from the heat, then the coast is probably your best bet. Valencia may be worth a look. Questions to help your decision: How do you plan to get around? Do you have a rail-pass? If you do, I'd say overnight trains are your best bet - You'll save money (as you can sleep on the train) and you'll likely see more. If no rail-pass, check Ryanair out - Cheap, and not quite as terrible as people claim. over 10 years ago
