Is there anything to do in Townsville?

The things I love to do in Townsville are: Reef HQ - the world's largest living coral aquarium - no diving or snorkelling required The Museum of Tropical Queensland Magnetic Island - heaps to do there and the fabulous Strand on the foreshore and cafes and restaurants to die for. Visit the Townsvilleeguide.com/nightlife - heaps to do as well. It may not rain - even though it is the tropics and the wet season it doesn't always rain. about 9 years ago

What company should I do introductory diving with in or around Cairns?

I have heard very good things about TUSA Dive.although I haven't used them personally. http://www.tusadive.com/reef_day_trips/introductory_diving.html Or you could visit Mission Beach 2 hours south of Cairns and dive there. http://www.calypsodive.com/Diving-Snorkelling.aspx about 9 years ago

Any suggestions of what I can do around Cairns on Saturday afternoon during a 3 hour lay-over to Brisbane?

My suggestions would be to take a taxi to the CBD and visit the Cairns Wildlife Dome at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino or take a taxi to the Flecker Botanical Gardens at Edge Hill and be blown away by the magnificent tropical plants. http://www.cairnsdome.com.au/ http://www.cairnsattractions.com.au/a_flecker-botanical-gardens.php Enjoy! over 7 years ago
