Hi Nicole, I was in Sicily for the first time in April and we stayed in this place in Bonagia http://www.hoteltonnaradibonagiasicily.com/ just bout 10 mins drive from trapani on the west coast. But if I was going back i'd probably stay out near San Vito Lo Capo. It's less than 2 hours drive from Palermo. It's a lively little town with an amazing beach. It's also close to the Zingharo reserve which has amazing beaches too. http://www.parks.it/riserva.zingaro/Eindex.php I'd also recommend visiting the greek ruins in Segesta http://www.bestofsicily.com/segesta.htm and stopping for lunch in the town of Castellamare del golfo http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g608929-d1145791-Reviews-Ristorante_La_Cambusa-Castellammare_del_Golfo_Sicily.html I haven't been over the other side of the island only to fly home but I've a friend whos been a few times and he always stays near san vito lo capo. http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/ChosenCity.San-Vito-Lo-Capo/ChosenCountry.Italy heres a site with some great guesthouses and apts. Better value really than hotels. Enjoy!! about 9 years ago

    How safe is Manila?

I must say I found it pretty safe when I was there 3 years ago. I stayed with friends of mine who have been living in Makati for a few years. Makati itself is very safe it's just apt blocks, hotels and malls so noting like the real manila but you feel very safe walking around there. We did go to other parts of the city too and always felt safe, the filipinos are so friendly and helpful never felt threatened at all. This hostel looks like a good option for manila. http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Our-Melting-Pot/Manila/36336 Here are a few other questions i answered on the phillipines if you're going further afield. http://travellr.com/questions/philippines/1275/are-there-some-recommended-diving-spots-in-the-philippines over 9 years ago

Are there some recommended diving spots in the Philippines?

I did my padi a couple of years ago in this place in Anilao, about 3 hrs drive from Manila. Anilao has some amazing dive spots nearby, cathedral and twin rocks were my favourite. Outrigger resort is a great spot, delicious food and right on the sea. Stunning! We were lucky enough to go to the local village of mabini with our dive instructor and there was a festival on, was so much fun. http://www.outrigger.com.ph/ over 9 years ago

Are there any great travel deals for Philippines beaches going on?

Well here is the perfect place for you so, coco loco island, paradise and very reasonably priced. http://www.cocolocoisland.com/ Further down the other end of Palawan is club noah, quite expensive but worth it, food, staff, location and perfect! http://www.clubnoah.info/index2.html The pictures probably don't do either place justice. I got engaged on Coco Loco two years ago, very fond memories of Palawan :-) over 9 years ago

Any suggestions? Bars? Restaurants? Sites? ANYTHING! (we're all 25-31 year old if that helps) Thanks ya'll

I love Dubrovnik, I've been a few times now and do something different each time. I agree Buza bar outside the city walls is great but farely quiet and chilled out. There is a square at the bottom of the old town near the cathedral with lots of bars together, one of them has live jazz. There are also a few more lively local bars off Stradun to the left when entering from Pile gate, one called cafe africa had some cool live music when I was there two guys playing Led Zepellin. Its on the side street with the yummy Pizza slices am sure you won't miss them, delicious and cheap. Food can be pricey in the restaurants especially seafood but it is delicious. Pizza and pasta is very reasonably priced. If you have time you could do a trip into montenegro or out to the islands, but depends when you are going, probably only worth doing in summer. If you're looking for accommodation, lots of guesthouses here in the old town itself and further out in lapad. http://www.bedandbreakfastworld.com/europe/croatia/dubrovnik over 9 years ago

What are the safety concerns in Argentina? Is there a high occurrence of theft in Buenos Aires?

Yeah I've been to Argentina 3 times and no issues at all, I felt very safe walking around. I think it's a pretty safe city. There are obviously places you shouldn't walk alone at night like any other major city. My friend did have her bag stolen in a restaurant in Palermo so you should keep an eye on that. She was sitting by the window and a couple came in, sat down for few minutes then got up to leave. over 9 years ago

Where is the best nightlife in Croatia?

I've been to Croatia 3 times now, but more for relaxing on the beach than nightlife. I've been to Korcula and Dubronvik which both have great restaurants and bars but not much in real late nightlife. I would think Hvar is probably the livliest of the islands. almost 10 years ago

Here are a few of my favourites, hopefully you won't be disappointed. They are all more traditional irish pubs and all serve good Guinness. Toners - http://www.dublinpubscene.com/thepubs/toners.html The Long Stone - http://www.thelongstone.com/ The Gingerman - http://www.dublinpubscene.com/thepubs/gingerman.html Here is a link to a pub review site too http://www.boo.com/dublin/nightlife almost 10 years ago
