Any eating recommendations for Paris And Rome for under 5 euro??

In Paris the best way to eat cheaply is Lebanese falafel in Marais or Moroccan cous-cous. Possibly the only French food would be the occasional crepe from a street vendor, or a take-away croque monsieur/madame from a bakery. In Rome, just head one or two streets back from the tourist spots and the prices will drop dramatically. Pizza by the slice is probably the cheapest food, or head to a bakery for a little variety. Treat yourself with at least one gelato while you're there. Alternatively head to the markets and create a decent picnic of bread, cheese and fruit. almost 9 years ago

Best place to eat Shao Long Bao?

Din Tai Fung are also in Shanghai & Beijing, but it's pricey and you'll find just as good Xiao Long Bao in many street corner restaurants, who may have been cooking nothing else for years. In Shanghai, head to the old city and look for pork+crab soupy dumplings, which is the speciality of the Shanghai region. One shop - I can't spell the name - in the central square of the Old Citywill have a huge queue. It's worth the wait. Head up to the 2nd or 3rd floor, sit at the communal tables and watch how others eat the buns to avoid the scalding soup. almost 9 years ago

Planning on going to Costa Rica next year, when is a good time and where should i go?

If you're there for a while then transport around the country is easy via the coach network, but you'll want to base yourself somewhere near San Jose, as most of the buses run via the capital. As for places to vist, La Fortuna is great for ziplining and volcano watching. Turrialba is the centre for whitewater rafting, Manuel Antonio for beaches and wildlife spotting, Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí for river cruises, Montezuma for beaches and watersport. Depending on your interests, you'll want to visit in dry season for beaches and sports, and the wet season for rafting. almost 9 years ago

Any information about reasonably priced accomodation in central London for a couple.

Unless you're planning on staying for 3 months or more you may not find much decent short-let accommodation in Central London in that price range. Possibly your best option for a short stay is a budget hotel - a Premier Inn or Travelodge is generally clean/comfortable and can be found next to most major stations for £69/night. If you are staying longer then have a look at http://www.nestoria.co.uk/embankment/property/rent#dyn:/embankment/property/rent/maxprice-375 almost 9 years ago

Is it possible to sleep in seats on Japanese trains?

It's possible, but they're not especially comfortable and don't recline. Make sure to book in advance to reserve a seat. Dedicated sleeper trains are considerably more expensive, so if you're flexible on time it's much cheaper to just stay overnight in a cheap/pod hotel. almost 9 years ago

Any advice for a 7 hour stop over in Doha, Qatar?

If you're Australian or British you can get a visa on arrival and go for a wander round the souqs, or at least do a little sightseeing. If you're all shopped out and not tempted by the sights of Doha or the US food chains then the Oryx lounge has snacks, drinks and wifi/internet facilities to while away the hours. It's occasionally cheaper if you book in advance - email almahaservice@qatarairways.com.qa and request a booking form. almost 9 years ago
