How safe is it to backpack around Asia with a DSLR Camera

I've been travelling around Asia for 20 years and the risks today are less than they used to be. However: 1) don't take anything with you that you aren't prepared to have lost or stolen. Happens all the time. Just part of the journey and is far from the worst thing that might happen so keep it in perspective. 2) just bear in mind that in many of these places there are still families struggling to survive on not very much and $900 can represent a couple of years income to them. So if your camera does get stolen, break out the karma and feel good that you've probably put food on the table of some needy family for a couple more months. Oh, and take some great photos. Those memories are priceless. over 5 years ago

I have made a plan for travelling through Indochina, am I doing too much travel and not enough staying?

It depends on what you like doing, but that is certainly a pretty full itinerary. I've been around that region quite a bit over the years, so if I had 4 weeks I'd probably: - adjust to and explore Saigon - explore some of the Mekong delta. You could easily spend a week doing just that; Mytho, Cantho, etc etc - Siem reap & Angkor Wat - personally I'd allow a week just for that but then I love temples - I'd skip vang vieng but Luang Prabang is gorgeous - there are also parts of Thailand that are still wonderful, even Bangkok But if I were you, I'd focus your trip a little more; 4 countries in 4 weeks you'll just glance off the surface. over 5 years ago

how do you separate your trips in journal.

Sorry if it's confusing. Once you log in there is a tab at the top called trips. Create a new trip. Then once you start a new journal entry, further down that page you'll find a field with the name of your newly created trip. Hope that makes sense. over 5 years ago
