What precautions should I take when visiting there (food)?

If you can't peel it, cook it, or wash it (in bottled water) don't eat it. Rule I've lived by for the last 28 years. Don't eat raw vegetables, including salads anywhere but a hotel/restaurant you know washes with bottled water. Brush and rinse with bottled water. Get cold drinks, no ice - again unless you know they prepare with bottled water. And enjoy the sites!! over 9 years ago

Are there any low budget airlines in Colombia?

I believe Avianca and Aero Republica are the safest. Haven't been there in a while but flying inside Colombia is relatively cheap. Also plan where you go. FARC terrorists own about 1/3 of the country and Americans are a target for kidnapping for ransom. Go to state.gov and check the State Department's travel warnings about what cities to avoid. Good source for any country you go to. They also have health concerns and recommended vaccinations. As does the World Health Organization (WHO). Do a little planning and have a great trip. Bogota is a wonderful city in the mountains with an average temp of about 70 degrees. (sweater in the morning and short sleeves in the afternoon. But use one of the taxis that park at the hotels. They speak English will be wearing ties and are well regulated and safe and will help guide you where not to go. about 9 years ago

Where is the best area to stay in Singapore

The Orchird Street area is the main shopping area. Little India and China town are definitely worth visiting for the flavor and the food. You can spend a day at Sentosa Island. The zoo is very nice, but an hour or so train ride from the central distrist. I've not used hostels there, but I found these two websites. They are set up like a travel agency and I'm sure they are making fair money off your booking, but still some decent prices. Not recommending, but you might look at them. There are many more if you Google "hostels Singapore". http://www.hostels.com/sn.html http://www.hostelsingapore.com/ Enjoy, Ed over 9 years ago
