Where are the best hikes in portugal?

Hi David, Sorry for the delay. I hope my suggestions are still on time. I would suggest you the islands, namely the levadas in Madeira(http://www.madeira-seekers.com/MadeiraWalks.html) and the Pico island in Açores (http://www.picoazores.com/english/pico_island/clibing_the_mountain.php). In the continent I suggest the north either Douro or the Natural Park of Peneda in Gerês (http://www.infohub.com/vacation_packages/21952.html). Depending on the number of days you could try to link Douro (http://www.infohub.com/vacation_packages/2106.html) with the portuguese historic villages (http://www.visitportugal.com/NR/exeres/161908EA-4602-4883-82F6-AA02D6250796,frameless.htm) . Enjoy Portugal and please let me know how it was. Cheers Rita about 9 years ago
