What is the best way to get from Vancouver to Edmonton?

Hmmm - renting a car is by far the best option. That way you can take your time and appreciate all the Rocky Mountains have to offer. Of course you could catch the train or bus to Calgary and then up to Edmonton, but you wouldn't see the best parts. By driving you can come all the way through Banff and Canmore, and then double back to Lake Lousie and go north through Jasper before heading over to Edmonton..... the Ice Fields Parkway from LL to Jasper is amazing at anytime of year! about 9 years ago

Where is a good place to learn to snowboard (and party)?

So a better alternative if you aren't totally hung up on the party scene are some smaller towns with the authentic old school feel. Red Mountain in Rossland, BC is an awesome two-mountain ski resort. It is kind of like entering a time warp as the place hasn't been consumed by the greed and drive to make money like most other ski hills. The family atmosphere is awesome and the terrain couldn't be better!! So many cool tree runs - we were there without a powder day and still had heaps of fun, but it would be insane with a fresh dump of snow!! Also you have areas like Revelstoke and Kicking Horse (in Golden) that are two up-and-coming resorts that have insane powder days, great steeps and long runs!!! A Canadian ski trip wouldn't be complete without a couple days at each!! almost 11 years ago

Can I see the Northern Lights in Lake Louise in October 2011?

Hey Danielle, Sure, it's possible... But I certainly wouldn't be counting on it. Aurora Borealis is a cruel mistress, basically the further north you go the better your chances. But at the end of the day it all comes down to solar activity and the adequate amount of darkness. Hell, I saw glimmers of the lights in the Kootenays in July. Hope that helps Rich over 8 years ago
