Looking for advice on safaris to Botswana

Hi Jai, Wilderness are fantastic but a little on the $$$ side. Mombo camp is the only place you'll see rhino in the Delta because of Wilderness' conservation project. I've represented Jenman Safaris who are specialists in small group trips. You can combine camping/lodges etc. There are so many parts to the Delta and it all depends on where the water is at the time as to the experience you will have. Must do: a water trip in a Mokoro; see some lions; red lechwe; birds!... I could talk for a while. Fly in safaris are very special as you'll see so much from just flying out of Maun into the heart of the Delta. Southern Botswana trips are usually combined with Vic Falls and you'll travel through some of the Kalahari (must do). I have a number of contacts here in Sydney as well. almost 11 years ago

    Itinerary suggestions for 11 days?

We spent time in Sharm el Sheikh and found a great seafood restaurant in the bazaar in the old town. Highlights for us - Mt Sinai at sunrise, day trip to Petra (AMAZING!!!!). We went to Cairo for the day to do the essential pyramids and museum and couldn't wait to get out of there. Sharm el Sheikh is a good starting point for diving. Lots of dive companies and good to get one that will take you further out ie, live aboard for a few nights. I've heard Dahab is good for diving also. over 11 years ago

    cheap accommodation

Japanese Ryokan's can be quite good. Depending on how cheap you want it, this one may be an alternative to a hotel and it's in Japanese style ie, tatami mats, Japanese screens etc I haven't stayed there but have stayed in Ryokan's in Kyoto and near Mt Fuji - highly recommend the experience. over 11 years ago
