I've heard Melbourne ticket inspectors make traveling on the trains unpleasant for tourists, is this true?

I have never had trouble with the inspectors in Melbourne. As long as you have a valid ticket then there are no problems. If you jump on a tram / train without a ticket then of course if an inspector comes along and you are going to get a fine or be asked to purchase a ticket. There were pretty strict when the commonwealth games were on because of the amount of tourists. Best advice is to always make sure you have a ticket. about 10 years ago

Am in Hawaii for 11 days - where should I go?

Hawaii is amazing! You will love it. It is worth the day trip to Pearl Harbour. Very touching and very moving. You can do a whole island tour for the day which can start in the early morning and take you right around the whole island. You will see chainman’s hat, break neck beach, lookouts, famous people’s houses, pearl harbour, macadamia nut farms, pineapple farms and lots more. We also did Diamond Head which was amazing. The view is something you don't see every day. Also a good idea is to do a sunset cruise which includes dinner; you get to watch the sun set looking over Waikiki beach. We walked back to the centre of Waikiki from Diamond Head which was good as we got to see the local's places and local shops. It was a nice down hill walk back in to the centre. Enjoy Hawaii we are going to go back for sure soon! about 10 years ago

    Good clubs in Surfers Paradise?

Cocktails & Dreams is a good night club. You may have to line up for a little while but it is good once you are in there. There are many nightclubs right in the centre of surfers. There is one called The Bedroom - worth a look. Not something you will see in Tasmania that's for sure. It is a night club that has beds and poles! No need to say anymore! You can also do party tours which takes you to lots of clubs for around $55 per person. They take you to majority of the main clubs starting at the Titanium Bar. I would recommend going to the Titanium Bar for a nice refreshing beer while looking over the canals. Have fun!. about 10 years ago

A good Italian restaurant for little money?

There is a wonderful restaurant which is dirt cheap just across the road form the colosseum. It is very fast service and really nice food. It was so nice to just sit there and look across the road at the wonderful view of the colosseum we had. I cannot remember what the name was but i am sure there wasn't to many of them around that area. It was just as you step out form the metro station. Hope this helps you! Enjoy! about 10 years ago

Where can I see some African wildlife?

I agree with Safariguy - the best places to see wildlife is in Kenya. I camped in the Serengeti and the nogorongora crater. The amount of wildlife was from far the best i had seen. There was nothing better then to see a lion take down a kill right in front of you. Something you may never see if your life. The masai mara is amazing! A must see for sure. Enjoy and be safe! Don't keep food in your tent if you are camping - the wild pigs will come and raid your tent for the food even if you are in it!!! about 10 years ago

What precautions should I take when visiting there (food)?

Don't eat meat! The meat hangs in the dirty streets and is all dried and has fly’s all over them. Best thing to do it wash everything! If you go to a supermarket over there (which are rare) depending on where you go - stock up on chips, biscuits etc for snacks. You will find that when dinner comes you won’t be as hungry! Be prepared to loose a fair bit of weight! about 10 years ago

What are the must-see attractions in the UK?

We really enjoyed the Big red bus tours. You can hop on and off at any points throughout the day and explore places and then hope on the next one that comes around. We managed to hop off plenty of times fitting in a canal cruise and the London Eye. It is a good way to get around London without costing a fortune. We also manged to get lost in the little streets of London which was also a highlight because you can find plenty of wonderful coffee shops tucked away which have the best sweets. check out http://www.bigbustours.com/eng/international/default.aspx over 10 years ago
