Dear Nicholas, it greatly depends upon what kind of interests you have. Kerala is known for its greenery, literacy, cultural heritage and what not? But you have to choose wisely what you need. I feel Kochi is nothing better than any other cities in India. There are a lot of other place that may catch your interest and capture your mind. I would recommend you Wayanadu, if you like nature. This is a less explored hill station, home to a lot of tribes having a very rich history of fighting the British. Blessed with a cool climate and good people. Many spots are there to see within short distances, say 40-50 Kms. almost 10 years ago
I would recommend Bekal beach in Kasargode district or Kappad beach in Kozhikode. Both are not too crowded and calm. It is hard to get beach bars in Kerala, let me tell you. almost 10 years ago
Depends upon what you never want to miss. Kerala is a beautiful mixture of art, culture and nature. You can choose. according to your taste. If you are so particular, I can arrange your trip. I would recommend to choose home-stays rather than hotels. There are some great old palaces and heritage homes that have been converted to home-stays with very friendly and cultured hosts. Believe me, it would be memorable...! almost 10 years ago
