Is it easy to move around in thailand between phuket and koi sumui ? What are my best and safe options?

Ahmed, There are direct flight from Phuket International Airport to Samui. Small plane but good service with Bangkok Airways, 4 flights per day and taking only 55 minutes. Once in Samui you can rent a car to go around and save on taxi fares. I've heard that the John Grey sea canoe is a great thing to do in Phuket but it seems quite expensive 4 Thailand. Are there good alternates?

Hello Simon, you can also check with Phuket Adventures [www.phuket-adventures.com] that offer similar tours in the Phang Nga Bay. The price from these companies seems a bit high because they have proper insurance but also because of the quality of the service. Any good food or shopping centers I couldn't miss in Phucket?

Hello Georgia, Phuket has 3 major shopping centers, 1) Robinson in Phuket Town, 2) Central Mall in the middle of the commercial centers’ area and 3) Jung Ceylon on Patong Beach. The most interesting for a visitor is Jung Ceylon in Patong, where you will find a myriad of restaurants, a food court, and lots of shopping. For more information on Phuket please visit www.phuket-holiday.com Regarding eating in Phuket, there is nothing simpler! Everywhere you go, you will find a place to eat, that it is in a fancy restaurant to a street stall. Most beaches of Phuket will have everything you need from western dishes to Asian delicacies. If you want to adventure a bit more you can always go through a local market, either the fresh markets or the food markets, generally located in the back streets of Phuket’s beaches. The Old Phuket Town is also a place to visit to discover local specialties. If you are not sure, the easiest is to point at a dish or let the chef choose for you. The golden rule, if the restaurant or street stall, is crowded with local Thais, then the food is good and you should definitely try it. The Old Phuket Town has a lot of restaurants, from traditional Chinese, to Southern Thai, to Muslim specialties which is very similar to India food with rich curries and India bread. Restaurants and street stalls are open from early morning ‘till very late in the night and in popular places, opened 24 hours. Thailand loves to eat and good food is very cheap, you can easily have a local Thai dish with soft drink for about 50 Baht (1 Euro). Enjoy your Phuket Holiday. I will be visiting Phuket Thailand...what is there to do for a senior?

Phuket is great for doing very little! Enjoy the beach, take a tour, visit Phuket Town, go to the Phuket Fantasea evening show, enjoy local foods, take a walk through Jung Ceylon and travel through the jungle on an elephant's back. Phuket is a major tourist destination and very service minded, if you ask reception and any travel agents on all popular beaches, you will find a myriad of activities from very good service companies. Our recommendations: 1) Phuket Fantasea evening show. 2) Phang Nga canoe day-trip - nothing physical as the tour guides do all the work for you! 3) Guided tour through Phuket Town. 4) DO NOTHING on the beach with a cocktail. 5) Massage, massage and more massage. 6) Walk through Jung Ceylon in Patong (mostly air conditioned spaces) 7) Evening diners and entertainment. 8) Guided tour of Phuket and its view points 9) Elephant trekking - not physical as the elephant does all the walking for you. It's easy to find accommodation in Thailand?

Hello Alan, If you book through an online service, you will enjoy much better rates than the walk-in rate. Hotels and resorts will charge you more if you walk-in but this gives you flexibility of going as you please. In any case, Thailand is very flexible and depending on the season you will easily find rooms. Be careful with big destinations such as Phuket during the good season from November through February, as most hotels will be fully books especially during Christmas. For this period, better be prepared. There are many options to book online, try www.phuket-holiday.com for more information and special hotels & resort rates. Enjoy your holiday in Thailand. Has anyone been to Deevana Patong Resort in Phuket recently?

Hello Farah, Deevana Patong Resort and Spa is undergoing some renovations at the moment and for a 3 stars resort in Patong the rates are very competitive. The resort has a great pool, clean rooms and lots of facilities with a Spa. You are off the main street and about 10 minutes walk from the beach and 15 minutes walk from the main Patong center with Bangla street and Jung Ceylon shopping center. The resort has received good recommendations on Trip Advisor and other travel portals.
