Is it safe to travel to Athens right now? Obijuan

I would not hesitate to travel in Greece just because of the recent demonstrations. Usually demonstrations pop up mostly in Athens. Strikes which close down the popular sites or the ferry lines are generally scheduled in advance and take place for a very limited time. You can read an English -language newspaper to find out what is going on. You might visit Athens and tour all of the important tourism sites without ever seeing any demonstrations, because they will be centered a little way away around government buildings or university. Even there, ordinary people will be strolling by ignoring the action. over 9 years ago

What to do in Columbus, Ohio?

Visit the campus of The Ohio State University. A great art museum stands at the entrance at 15th Avenue. I second German Village. And the COSI, the Center of Science and Industry, offers a first rate interactive science museum. Look for the Scioto River (pronounced Sigh-Oh-toe--or Sigh-Oh-tah in Ohio-ese) and follow along to some picnic spots on the way to the zoo. over 9 years ago

I'm in Rome for only 3 days in July. What's are my must do's?

My advice: Get a good map like the Streetwise laminated map. Fortunately you can walk to almost all the major places in Rome, and see fascinating bits and pieces of the past along the way. Don't miss the beautiful Piazzas like Navona and Popoli. If you want to see the Sistine Chapel, get reservations on line in advance so that you can avoid the long lines. We took the tour of the tombs under St. Peters and thought it was absolutely fascinating. Whether you believe this is the true resting place of St. Peter or not, you'll see a cemetery of Etruscan graves which are like little houses along a narrow footpath. You make reservations in advance for that, too, at the Vatican, here: http://bit.ly/O05Pc over 10 years ago
