i had laparoscopic appendectomy 2 days ago, i need to fly in 6 days - would travel insurance cover me

Hi there, You will need to review the pre-existing medical conditions section, of the policy wording for the country of permanent residence you are from, to determine what cover is available. With World Nomads policies your country of permanent residence determines the benefits, limits, conditions, inclusions and exclusions that are available to you. Please contact us if you need further help: http://www.worldnomads.com/contact-us Hope that helps, Pearse almost 4 years ago

I will commuting around Sydney, is the Opal Card available in the airport?

Hi Wanderluster, From looking at the opal retailer site both the Domestic & International airports in Sydney have an opal card retailer. If you want to have a look yourself search 'Mascot' (airport suburb) on this site then look at the ones around the terminals; http://www.retailers.opal.com.au. Otherwise I'm sure you can ask someone when you get there. Hope that helps! Pearse - World Nomads almost 4 years ago

Does the upgraded app feature all the phrases in the Swahili language?

Hi Amaan, The World Nomads Swahili PLUS Language Guide features more than 550 Swahili spoken phrases, as well as expanded and additional sections on lots of different subjects. This is up from the free version of the guide, which has 250+ spoken phrases. More information on the PLUS guide can be found on this page of the site: http://journals.worldnomads.com/language-guides/story/52041/Kenya/Learn-Swahili-with-the-WorldNomads-Swahili-Language-Guide It doesn't however, feature ALL of the phrases in the language (that would be quite the accomplishment!) Just let me know if you have any other questions about the guide. Cheers, Pearse - World Nomads almost 4 years ago

What are the 5 things that you wish you had known before traveling to China?

I know this question is a bit old but hopefully this helps others wondering the same thing: 1.There’s no such thing as a queue. Anywhere. It’s not rude, it’s just how it works over there. 2. Make sure you have the right visa for the right region, different provinces have different rules, but it’s nothing that cash can’t solve so make sure you keep some RMB on you. 3. Speaking of which, cash is king and it will open more doors than you think. 4. Nobody speaks english, so make sure you bring a phrasebook or better still, have a local guide. 5. Personal space is a luxury. But just because you get a few shoves on a crowded street, does not mean the locals aren’t really friendly. It’s just a by-product of living side-by-side with 1.3 Billion people. I'm sure there's lots more but these are definitely good things to keep in mind. almost 5 years ago

do i still need visa to enter japan even if im holding japanese passport in the philippines?

Hi Miyuki, To confirm, you have a current & valid Japanese passport? This would mean you are considered a Japanese citizen and would not need a visa. Feel free to double check with your local Japanese embassy, however holding a current & valid passport for a country inherently means you do not need a visa to enter it (as long as you haven't lost your Japanese nationality; see below) One thing you might want to be aware of is Japan's policies concerning dual nationals. This article from Japan's Ministry of Justice provides further information; http://www.moj.go.jp/ENGLISH/information/tcon-01.html Pearse - World Nomads about 4 years ago

How do I change start date

Hi Gale, As long as it's prior to the policy starting you should be able to change this in your member account. Just go to Help Desk on the site and search "making changes" for an article which explains the process a bit further. Hope that helps! about 4 years ago
