At roughly what times of the year is the pass into Nepal open?

Yes, Zhangmu / Kodari will never be closed unless during March (for foreigners) when Tibet is closed and permits not issued. But the road (Highway 318) is usually quite good all year round, there may be some temporary blockage, but it's really not very common. about 9 years ago

How can I get to LinZhi?

There's a flight from Chengdu to Nyingchi (Lin Zhi), but I think the best way is to go to Lhasa first (of course you will have to arrange a tour to Tibet), then go to the eastern part of Tibet. Note that there's an additional military permit to go to Nyingchi, so you should apply it around 20 days ahead so you can give your tour agency enough time to process the permit applications. about 9 years ago

Any route ideas for a 10 days holiday in Tibet?

For ten days, I think the best trip is: Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa, pickup service, with tour guide Day 2: Lhasa for acclimatization, relax (suggested sights: Norbulingka Summer Palace and Sera Monastery), with tour guide Day 3: Lhasa (suggested sights: Potala Palace, Barkhor Circuit and Jokhang Monastery, Tsamkhung Nunnery and its teahouse), with tour guide Day 4: Landcruiser trip: Lhasa - Yamdrok Lake - Gyantse (suggested sights: Pelkhor Choeden), with tour guide Day 5: Landcruiser trip: Gyantse (visit Gyantse Fort) - Shigatse - Sakya Monastery, with tour guide Day 6: Landcruiser trip: Sakya - Everest Base Camp, with tour guide Day 7: Landcruiser trip: Everest Base Camp - Shigatse (suggested sight: Tashilunpo Monastery), with tour guide Day 8: Landcruiser trip: Shigatse - Namtso Lake, with tour guide Day 9: Landcruiser trip: Namtso Lake - Yangpachen Hotspring - Lhasa, with tour guide Day 10: Lhasa, leaving Tibet by train or plane, with tour guide to send you to the airport or train station about 9 years ago

is it possible to enter Tibet from Nepal in March? We are two docotrs hoping to visit the hospitals in Lhasa.

It is possible to enter Tibet from Nepal, but March is a problem, Tibet is usually closed during March since 2008 when an unrest happened. Tibet is usually closed from early March to around the first week of April, it's slightly different every year, so you should contact your tour agency and ask them to keep you update. Tour agencies are usually informed of the reopening of Tibet a few days earlier than the actual reopening, info is not very transparent here. about 9 years ago
