What would be "off the beaten track" special places in Paris to spend time with my wife for her 40th birthday ?

here are some suggestions: Flea Market at St Ouen Cimetery of Pere lachaise (very beautiful and lots of celebrities buried there: James Morrisson..) les arenes de lutece in the 5th arrondissement PLace Dauphine near the Court House Rue Montorgueil La Butte aux cailles There is so much!!! enjoy! over 11 years ago

I would love to know where the locals eat good food (romantic Place) and buy food at a reasonable price in Paris near Place dauphine

you got plenty around. First you have the restaurant Quai Quai right on the place dauphine. Otherwise, you can either go to St Germain (5 minutes walk) and eat either au Cinq Mars, Cafe des lettres, or you may want to go to the Saut du Loup right in the middle of the Tuileries Garden (a bit pricey but awesome place). Also more on the Louvre side, I highly recommend the best pasta in Paris, Procopio Angelo (rue St Honore), very small restaurant where you can also order to take away. As far as buying food, you have small markets either near chatelet (5 minutes walk) or go to near rue de bucy in St germain and you will find supermarket along with a butcher... Enjoy Place Dauphine, by far my favorite place in Paris (and the most romantic too!) Loic almost 11 years ago
