I will be travelling for more then 2 weeks. How do I get a quotation for 16 days?

Hi, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. As you've seen, we currently only offer set durations for our travel insurance plans, however we give you the flexibility to extend while you're traveling. The duration of cover offered will differ depending on your country of residence, which you haven't specified. Either way, you have 2 options: 1. Buy a 3 week duration plan now, and this will cover you for the full duration of your trip. Or 2. Buy the 2 week plan now, then after you have started traveling, you can extend this plan through your WorldNomads membership. If you'd like to ask specific questions about our travel insurance coverage, please do contact our customer services team direct, who are more than happy to help- http://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx Safe travels almost 8 years ago

Anyone know who will cover kidnapping and life insurance for a war zone, for a traveller who has already left Australia?

Hello- Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. What you're looking for can only be provided by a specialist insurer. Cover for war zones or anywhere where you might put your life in danger (or you're warned not to travel due to the risk of kidnapping) is not covered by a general travel insurance policy or our plans. Contact the team at Cerberus Special Risks and they should be able to help: http://www.cerberusspecialrisks.com.au/ almost 8 years ago

Can I get medical treatment as a tourist in Brisbane?

Hi Alejandra - Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. As a traveller, if you required emergency medical assistance and treatment, it is highly unlikely a hospital in Brisbane will refuse treatment. In the article, the journalist specifically mentions that the "ban only applies to non-emergency maternity and gynaecological procedures". I wouldn't let this article stop you from visiting Brisbane - However, just remember, medical tourism (ie. travelling to a place specifically to get medical treatment) is generally not covered by travel insurance. World Nomads travel insurance does not provide coverage for pre-existing medical conditions, which includes any condition that you were aware of, intend to claim for treatment, or have received treatment before you purchased your travel insurance (or extended your policy) You are also not covered for cosmetic surgery, elective treatment or routine medical or dental treatment eg. check ups. Please do read your full description of coverage / policy wording carefully so you understand what our insurers will cover (and not). If you require emergency medical treatment for a serious accident or illness while travelling, please call the Emergency Assistance team listed on your certificate of insurance/policy documents. They can assist you with finding the most appropriate medical facility for treatment if you are unsure. You can also retrieve the correct Emergency Assistance team's number here - http://www.worldnomads.com/emergencyassistance.aspx Safe travels, about 8 years ago

Hello. I just missed my flight. I'm trying to contact CATAR airways to see if they can do anything... What if they can't do anything?

Hi Nuno Sorry to hear you've missed your flight. You should keep trying CATAR airways. There is coverage in your policy if your trip has been interrupted or delayed due to specific reasons listed in your policy wording, including if you suffer an acute serious illness/injury or if your pre-booked transport is cancelled. The coverage does have specific terms and conditions so you should read "Section 14 Trip interruption" and "Section 17 Travel Delay" in your policy wording to see the terms of coverage of your policy in detail before you assume you are covered for refunds, additional tickets or you commit to other travel expenses. You can submit a claim online for the insurer to consider, even if you're travelling. Simply sign in to your WorldNomads.com membership using the login in the top right hand corner of this page. Please note: this advice is relevant for this policy holder only. Each travel insurance plan available through WorldNomads.com is different, depending on your country of residence. You must read the policy terms and conditions of coverage to make sure you understand what's covered (and not). If you have specific travel insurance questions about your policy or coverage, please contact our Customer Services team - http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx or if it is an emergency, please call the Emergency Assistance team listed on your policy documents - you can check these here - http://www.worldnomads.com/emergencyassistance.aspx Please do keep using the Ask a Nomad service for general travel questions. I hope you're able to arrange another flight soon. Safe travels about 8 years ago

Where it says worldwide, it includes Israel and Egypt as well, am I right?

hi Gaby, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. Yes, Worldwide includes cover in Israel and Egypt, as long as your government travel advisory confirms it is safe to travel to these regions (and as long as you are not a permanent resident of these countries, as we don't cover domestic travel) If you have specific travel insurance questions about coverage, please contact our Customer Services team - http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx You can keep using the Ask a Nomad service for general travel questions.
