Anywhere know of a nice place to stay in Tasmania for 4-5 days in mid December

Thats a great question! There are plenty of places to stay in Tasmania, it all depends on your preference, if you are planning on basing yourself somewhere and renting a car and doing day trips then Hobart would be an ideal place to start, there are a few hostels you can stay at (Pickled frog, hobart backpackers) or plenty of mid range hotels and motels. From there you can basically make day trips around to the Tasman Peninsula (Port Authur), Huonville, Mt Field, Mt Wellington, and many other destinations, all are up to 2 hours drive from the CBD, the Tasmanian Museum, salamanca art district, and leisurely strolls are easy enough from anywhere in Hobart... If however you are looking to stay in one location for 4-5 days and just relax and do a little bush walking and stuff then the east coast is ideal particularly Swansea or Bicheno, only a half hour to Freycinet national park. over 10 years ago

We are going to do our open water dive course, what is the best company to use? and good value place to stay? cheers

We went through Scuba Junction, (A little 2 min walk up the path from Bans..) its around the same price as Ian has mentioned however you are in training courses with maximum four people. Bans can be up to 10-20 people so you miss out on personal training. Prices for open was 10,000 and then its 15% discount if you purchase more towards advanced... great crew there! www.scuba-junction.com would recommend completely!! over 10 years ago
