Can anyone recommend any good Australian produced films?

As far as amazing Australian films goes, I don't think you can go past Hercules Returns (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107103/). It is mildly ridiculous but stupidly funny. over 9 years ago

What is the most interesting thing you have eaten in Asia?

Ahh awesome! I tried sashimi-style horse (basashi) in Japan but some of that stuff is pretty crazy. What were monkey brains like? over 9 years ago

Headed to Nürburgring, Germany for a music festival in July perhaps - any hints on what else to do around that time?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was actually in Berlin at that time of year about 3 year ago, and randomly ran into the Love Parade, it was pretty awesome. Ahh, cycling is an awesome idea, wow I walked a lot last time I was there! over 9 years ago

    Family accomodation in Sydney CBD

I have stayed at the Goldsborough too actually :). It is pretty awesome but felt a little out of the way (although it has great close access to Darling Harbour). For the price it was damn good! over 9 years ago

    Family accomodation in Sydney CBD

I stayed at the YHA on the rocks for about two weeks recently - it was awesome. The place is really clean and friendly, and I think it would be great for families (there were a decent number there while I was staying and they seemed quite happy). We actually did a write up on the place: http://blog.travellr.com/2009/11/closer-look-at-sydney-harbour-yha.html The place blurs the line a bit between hotel and hostel, what you get for the price is simply awesome, especially if you get a room to yourself (all rooms have en suites, are airconditioned, decent beds, so on..). There are double / twin rooms as well as 4-5 person family rooms. The hostel is about 8 mins walk from the cool bits of the rocks. Hope this helps, and happy travelling. over 9 years ago

What is the public transport system like in Perth?

The public system isn't amazing like Melbourne's, but it is still pretty damn nice (much better than Hobart's!). I have never driven in Perth but have spent a lot of time there, and the buses / trains have always been enough to get me around. All public transport services over there are through Transperth (http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/). If you can, find a place to stay near a train station, it will make things a bit easier :). almost 10 years ago

What are some affordable (read: cheap) accommodations in/around Tokyo?

When I was in Tokyo for two weeks I stayed at K's house hostel. Don't let the title "hostel" throw you, the K's houses are the best hostels I have stayed at anywhere in the world. They are amazingly clean, very new, the staff are awesome and they are decently cheap. K's house was honestly better than some of the hotels I stayed in while in Japan. A single room will cost you only 3,900 yen, but looking at their website availability for those is no good until the 27th of November. There are still dorms available though (3,000 yen). The hostel is located in Asakusa, and the subway entrance is literally 1 minute away. http://kshouse.jp/tokyo-e/index.html Hope that helps almost 10 years ago
